Statement of Faith
A. We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God, the final and sole authority for faith and life, infallible, God breathed, and Godly preserved.
B. We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in nature, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and the three persons having the same attributes and perfections.
C. We believe that God created the Heavens and the Earth and all things therein from nothing in six days.
D. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, became man without ceasing to be God, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man.
E. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through the shedding of His blood and His death on the cross of Calvary.
F. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, as our High Priest. He fulfilled the ministry to bridge the gap between God and sinful mankind.
G. We believe that the Holy Spirit is part of the Triune who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling, and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
H. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; but, that in Adam’s sin, humanity fell, inherited a sinful nature, became alienated from God, depraved, and separated from God.
I. We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by Grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. Salvation is of God and by God alone, and not by works of man’s own righteousness.
J. We believe in the second return of Christ, which is our “Blessed Hope”.
K. The Eternal State
1. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. The saved will enter into eternal life in heaven and the unsaved to judgement and everlasting punishment in Hell.
2. We believe that the souls and spirits of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord. The redeemed await the first resurrection when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord.
3. We believe that the souls and spirits of the unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious misery until the second resurrection, when soul, spirit and body reunited, they shall be cast into hell, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment.
L. After Christ’s resurrection, Sunday was held sacred as the Lord’s Day in remembrance of His Resurrection. From that time on, Christ’s followers observe the first day of the week as their Sabbath.
M. Baptism by water is not an essential practice to be saved, only faith in Christ alone. The Scriptures do command all believers to be baptized. Those who accept Jesus as their savior are encouraged to be baptized. The form of water baptism is not made clear in the Bible other than the word itself which means “immerse”. Immersion is, therefore, the recommended form. However, if immersion is not practical or the person being baptized prefers water sprinkling, this too is acceptable. A dedication service will be available on request for those under the age of accountability.
N. Jesus gave us the service of the Communion, in which bread and wine are used to represent His broken body and shed blood on the cross. This service should be observed often to remind us of Jesus’ sacrificial love and to give Him thanks for all that He has accomplished for us. The service is to be performed with reverence and grace and in a manner that honors God and gives Him glory, Communion is open to all who are born again professing Christians.
O. We believe that holy matrimony was instituted of God and sanctioned by our Lord Jesus Christ and should be held in honor by all people. This relationship is to be between a man and a woman.
